About

A symposium for a polymath, in the city he loves.

Alán Aspuru-Guzik is a Mexican-Canadian theoretical chemist whose work has helped shape three intertwined fields: quantum computing for chemistry, machine learning for molecular discovery, and the self-driving laboratory. He is a professor at the University of Toronto, a CIFAR AI Chair, and the founder of more good companies and collaborations than this paragraph can hold.

But he is also — and this is why we are gathering — a teacher, mentor, and friend. The community that has grown around his work spans continents, generations, and disciplines. This August, we bring as much of it as we can to Mexico City, the place where it all began.

Expect three days of science, one day of celebration, and four nights of conversation that runs late.
